Tea Alchemy’s Classes- Summer 2010

July 10th 12-3pm- 10 local mountain herbs

-Summer is here and it is prime season to visit the wild flowers. From your back yard dandelion to deep and rooted Osha we will taste, experience, visit and connect to 10 of our local mountain healers. We will begin with in-house tea time and information, then out to find medicines in their natural setting. Bring walking shoes, shades and a water bottle.

July 11th & July 25th – New Moon & full Moon 7-9pm – Full Moon Phases

Gather with us in circle and celebrate the moon. We will explore the meaning behind her phases, mythology and her aid in spell work. We will share ideas, Tea & cakes. This class is a two part series taking place on the new & full moon days on this eight moon of the year. Blessed Be.

July 24th 12-3pm – Flower essence series

The vibrational medicine of flowers can help us to bring more balance into our emotional well being. During class we will learn the history and use of the Bach Flower remedies. On our class outing we will explore the flowers of these mountain and make essences of our own.

Cost- $65

July 30th 12-3pm- The Art of learning reflexology

You and your workshop partner will learn specific points to work on for specific ailments. We will draw on the feet and use to learn relaxation techniques. Upon leaving the workshop you will have a diagram to begin practicing reflexology. Please bring a blanket, pillow and lotion. Join Lisa Hupfer certified Holistic Reflexologist for the fun!

July 10th 12-3pm

August 13th & 20thSummer mead making (Missing time & cost)

Mead the beverage known as the “Nectar of the Gods”. In class we will create our own batch of mead, learning each step of the process from start- bottling to palate in a hands-on format. Learn how to brew traditional Meads (honey wine), Methaglins (mead with spices) and Melomels (mead with fruit). We will taste a flight of meads of various ages and sources to understand aging and flavor balancing. Students will be notified when the batch we start in class is finished so that we can come together again for an evening of tasting. The batch will then be divided amongst the class to be enjoyed at Leasure!

August 14th – 6-8pm- Herbal remedies of the sacred heart

Many of our gifted plant medicines have physical action but also carry emotional energetic qualities. Sadness and the broken spiritual heart underlie so many of our ailments. With the help of our herbal heart allies we can find support in healing many layers. This is an experiential class to get in touch with the heart.

Cost $45

August 27th 4-6:30pm- An Introduction into the world of Medicinal Edibles

An invitation to all interested in the immense diversity that the medicinal world of Cannabis edibles has to offer.  We will prepare onsite some of the most common methods of extraction: Cannabutter or Cannalipid, chocolate syrup, tea and my favorite medicated edible Ambrosia honey buds of the Gods.  A delve into traditional methods, various extraction techniques and applications will be discussed. As well as warnings, side effects, overdose instructions and Individualized dosing is given in easy to read compiled tables.

Attendees will receive a large recipe booklet that is over 110 pages long with other suggested readings, website links and resources. We will have the opportunity to try the above on site preparations as well as the traditional brownie, mariwafers (perfect for scheduled dosing), Medicated Lycii lozenges, chili and other choices upon request.

2 hours long with take home material providing hours of reading, resources and other inspirations for research.

Cost: $60 includes: class, booklet & variety of sample (4+ doses worth)

September 3rd 7-9pm- Chocolate making – missing cost

During this workshop we will blend many types of chocolates: From damiana lavender infused chocolates to cinnamon brandy infused truffles. No chocolate contain refined sugar. We will celebrate chocolate as we discuss history, lore and poetry as well as getting acquainted with some of the finest ingredients in chocolate making.

September 4th  12-2pm- Spa Products

Learn how to make our secret formulations for facial scrubs, body scrubs, masks and fresh lotion. We will provide the highest quality local organic and fair trade organic ingredients as well as beautiful recycled glass containers for your creations. Share them as a gift or lavish yourself with delight.

Cost- $75
